Recently I wrote a blog article about winter driving tips in Oregon, but never discussed any of the same type of driving tips for Utah. Then during this last storm Utah reported over a one hundred and twenty car accidents along the Wasatch Front from Sunday’s storm. While I did not have any of my Utah friends ask about winter driving tips, they did ask about what to do if they where involved in an accident. I have compiled a list of things to do at the accident scene below. I have also included an interesting article in the Deseret News, showing the large amounts of vehicle accidents that occurred during this latest storm.
Just a couple of simple tips to help you when you are involved in an accident.
- Stay at the Scene.
- Call the Police.
- Exchange information with the other drivers.
- DO NOT ADMIT LIABILITY!
- Take pictures of everything.
- Immediately seek medical attention. Your health is that important.
- After you have done these things, call my office to report your accident and we will begin to work on your case.
